This Week in Global Entrepreneurship - Nov. 10, 2017

Your weekly snapshot of entrepreneurial activity around the globe:

  • Award-winning bakery and dessert brand, Milk Bar, raised a Series A to expand their sweet treats both online and offline. I’ve been a fan of Christina Tosi’s innovative desserts since I moved to New York in 2010 and am excited to see what comes next.
  • New York and Toronto are strengthening innovative ties by announcing their partnership, MaRS@GCT, which will allow Grand Central Tech and MaRS Discovery District to support companies moving and scaling between the two cities. I visited MaRS back in 2012 and have been eager to go back and see how much they’ve grown.
  • Dublin’s NDRC is looking for innovative digital startups for its spring program. Teams receive investment, incubation, mentorship, weekly workshops and networking opportunities.
  • Several months ago I was accepted to be a mentor for the Cherie Blair Foundation and last week started the year-long mentoring relationship. I was drawn to the organization due to its mission of helping women in under-served markets build businesses. I’ve been paired with an entrepreneur based in Mexico and am so excited to work with her over the coming year.

Until next week...
